Dunfermline Abbey Wedding

The historic setting of Dunfermline Abbey played the backdrop to the wedding while Balbirnie House Hotel in Markinch, Fife played host to the reception.

Scottish Parliament

I took this image of Alex Salmond, at the foot of the staircase that leads to the debating chamber within the Holyrood, home of the Scottish Parliament.

Edinburgh Registry Office

I photographed a small wedding at Edinburgh Registry Office, on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. The Registry Office is next to the majestic St. Giles's Cathedral where I took some photographs of the wedding party.

The Piper on the Golf Course

At a recent wedding in Livingston, West Lothian I had more than I wanted to contend with as the Bride and Groom arrived at the reception at Uphall Golf Club. As the piper David Brown played on the local golfers were held up for a few minutes as the newly married 'Browns' entered the club.

Kinloch Rannoch Wedding

The wedding of Juli and Martin took place on the banks of Loch Rannoch. Juli had her heart set on an outdoor wedding. The dream was nearly broken due to the Scottish weather. In the days leading up to the wedding the forecast was all over the place. The night before the wedding the temperature dropped to -6 with snow on the hills. Fortunately the sun managed to break through the clouds and was beating down on the banks of Loch Rannoch.

South Queensferry Wedding

I was privileged to photograph Clare & Jeff’s wedding. The ceremony was in South Queensferry. After the service we popped down to the harbour for a few photos then it was over the Forth Bridge to a reception at The Queensferry Hotel.

Kids at Weddings

Kids always look great at weddings. Having a young family and being a big kid at heart I make children relax in front of the camera as this photograph shows.

Edinburgh Wedding Photography

The wedding of Lisa and Simon took place in the registry office in the High Street, Edinburgh. As the couple did not want anything too fancy, we took a walk down the High Street and took the wedding photos as we walked. It's amazing what nooks and crannies you can find along the way. A few of the couples favorite photos have been included.

Scottish Borders Pre-wedding Shoot

A lovely evening provided the backdrop to a pre wedding visit to Mellerstain House in the Scottish Borders to plan Nicola and Ali's wedding. It really pays dividends to plan your wedding day's shooting prior to the wedding. I find that the day runs much better from a photography point of view if I have walked around venue with the couple.

First Communion

I photographed a First Communion. It was a bright sunny day & I got away without using fill in flash in the chapel which really helped me capture the atmosphere of this young lady's special day.

Cat

Shadow, the cat, is a little psycho (probably due to being part Siamese) and I wanted to convey this image. I spent a lot of time editing this photo on the computer and gave it a sharp staccato, slightly grainy look which I think works quite well. More importantly my customer was really thilled with the final result.

Sticky Willie

I had a fun time photographing the Scottish folk band Sticky Willie. The photos were for their new album and web site. I'll be photographing them playing at a music festival later this year.

Dundas Castle

I am thrilled to be a recommended wedding photographer at Dundas Castle.

Dundas Castle is one of Scotland's most beautiful and historic castles, secluded in the peaceful countryside of its own 1000 acre grounds yet situated in South Queensferry, just a few miles from Edinburgh.

Harburn House

I am thrilled to be a recommended photographer for Harburn House.

This beautiful Georgian Mansion is situated in Central Scotland and surrounded by its own 3000 acre spectacular grounds including lochs, streams, woodland paths, bridges and dovecots which provide numerous dramatic and romantic photographic backdrops, as do any of the spacious, graceful rooms of Harburn House itself.

Kirknewton House Stables

I am thrilled to be a recommended photographer for Kirknewton House Stables which, not surprisingly, is the old stables of Kirknewton House. This is a romantically secluded wedding venue in the heart of the Central Scotland belt. http://www.kirknewtonestate.co.uk/

New Blog Site

My blog site is (finally) up and running. As a photographer I love new gadgets & toys and have relished the transfer from 35mm to digital however I have been a little slow at 'blogging'.

I will however make the time to update my blog site so any interested persons can get a feel for my style of photography and see what I've been up to.
